The UTeM-Melaka RICE Collaboration Management Centre (RICE) organized the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Knowledge Sharing and Transfer Programme (KSTP): UTeM STEM Centre Roadshow at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Durian Tunggal.

The programme aimed to expose school students to the application of robotics technology in manufacturing engineering. Very positive feedback was received from the participants.

This programme was conducted by Ts. Dr. Mohd Fazli bin Mohd Sam from the Faculty of Technology Management and Technopreneurship (FPTT), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). In addition to providing exposure to effective and high-impact mushroom cultivation techniques, the programme empowered participants with knowledge related to cost management, financial planning, startup capital calculations, operational expenditure control, and product pricing strategies. Through this knowledge sharing, participants were exposed to methods for recording and monitoring cash flow, managing profits, and identifying factors that influence mushroom production costs. This knowledge is crucial in helping participants plan and operate their enterprises more systematically, enhance product competitiveness, and ensure long-term business sustainability and success.

Participants, comprising members of BAKAT (Armed Forces Wives and Female Members Association), demonstrated high levels of commitment, interest, and enthusiasm throughout every session. The active involvement of participants reflects their determination to apply the acquired knowledge and expand the mushroom cultivation project as a potential new source of income to improve family well-being.

The Collaboration Management Centre (RICE), in partnership with faculties and student clubs, will host Infineon Week @ UTeM 2026. This high-impact programme represents a strategic bilateral collaboration between UTeM and the international semiconductor company, Infineon Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd.

A variety of exciting events have been lined up throughout Infineon Week 2026 from June 8 to 13, 2026 (Monday – Saturday), taking place at the Main Campus & Technology Campus, UTeM. These include an Industrial Visit to Infineon, a Knowledge Sharing Transfer Program (Harnessing the Power of AI and Human Collaboration), an Interview Clinic for Final Year Students, an Interview Session for UTeM Students, an Innovation Project Competition (Decarbonization & Digitalization), JomChat with the Senior Vice President & Managing Director, a Fun Run, and an E-Sports Competition.

This intensive workshop was conducted by six (6) professional and certified facilitators from the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), who possess extensive experience in patent drafting and examination. Throughout the programme, participants were given comprehensive and practical exposure to methods of preparing patent documents, starting from prior art searches, writing the background of the innovation, and preparing claims, through to preparing complete specifications for Innovation Utility (UI) patent filings.

The hands-on approach utilized allowed participants to prepare their own patent drafts directly under the guidance of MyIPO facilitators. Individual consultation sessions also helped participants understand essential elements in ensuring that an innovation meets the criteria of novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability before the filing process takes place.
